Cardamom is a valuable and popular spice that flavours both food and drinks. Traditionally, cardamom is used to flavour coffee in many countries, and is added to sweets, biscuits and gingerbread (especially during the winter holidays). Add cardamom to marinades, wine, spicy stews and seitan steaks.
Cardamom has a refreshing effect, which is why in ancient times, in some countries, cardamom was, and still is, chewed after meals to improve breath.
It is one of the most precious and expensive spices.
